The management of waste generated by the operation of nuclear plants is a major industrial issue, reinforced by the fact that an increasing number of nuclear power plants will have to be dismantled in the coming years.

The nuclear sector has to deal with the same issues as the recycling professionals for the treatment of the waste coming from the operation as well as the dismantling of nuclear plants:

One specificity: Radioactivity

Safe operation

Depending on the radioactivity level of nuclear waste, some safety features can be implemented:

  • Self-containing of the machines depending on the activity grade of the materials to treat
  • Change in the control station through control touchscreen or pressurized cabin
  • Use of remote control systems for the security of the installation
  • HM Interface
  • Automatization of some working phases
  • Dust extraction systems with emergency cycles in case of dust exhaust fault
  • Sound and vibratory insulation
  • Effluents and fines recovery systems for further recycling
  • Management of the interfaces between the machine and their auxiliary devices

Safe maintenance
